Mold damage – Kingsport Home

Mold damage occurred at this Kingsport home due to a faulty exhaust fan that was not removing the airborne moisture from the shower in an efficient manner. The homeowner tried to clean the ceiling with bleach but realized the drywall was too damaged from the mold for that to work. SERVPRO of Kingsport / Bristol was called in to clean up the mold damage. WE first set up a containment area to prevent mold spores from flying around the house while we mitigated the damage. Next, we had to tear out all of the ceiling drywall in the bathroom and dispose of it. We replaced the exhaust fan and light fixture before installing a new ceiling.
